Harmony in Action: How Two Volunteers Nurtured Body, Mind, and Spirit
February 15, 2025   |   Kannada Medium School , NITK Surathkal
Activities like karate training, outdoor games, singing sessions, and assembly gatherings conducted by volunteers Dhruva and Aishwarya created a strong and positive impact on the students of the Kannada medium school supported by SENA Foundation. These activities focused on the physical, emotional, and moral development of the children and helped them grow with confidence and discipline. Karate sessions were especially beneficial for the students. Many Kannada medium students had never been exposed to self defense or structured physical training before. Through karate, students learned discipline, focus, and self control. It helped them become physically active and mentally strong. Students gained confidence in their own abilities and learned how to protect themselves. Karate also taught them respect, patience, and the importance of regular practice, which reflected positively in their academic and personal life. Outdoor games brought energy and happiness into the school environment. These games encouraged teamwork, cooperation, and healthy competition. Students learned how to work together, follow rules, and accept both victory and defeat gracefully. For many children, outdoor games reduced stress and improved their overall well being. It also helped shy students mix freely with others and build friendships, creating a more inclusive and joyful atmosphere in the school. Singing activities played an important role in emotional expression and confidence building. Kannada medium students often hesitate to express themselves, but singing helped them overcome fear and stage hesitation. Group singing created unity and happiness among students. It improved their pronunciation, rhythm, and listening skills while also boosting their self confidence. Students felt proud to perform in front of others and discovered their creative talents. Assembly gatherings conducted by volunteers Dhruva and Aishwarya became a meaningful platform for learning and inspiration. Through assemblies, students learned the importance of discipline, punctuality, and unity. Simple talks, prayers, songs, and motivational messages helped students start their day with positive thoughts. These gatherings strengthened moral values and encouraged students to be responsible and respectful individuals. The volunteers Dhruva and Aishwarya also benefited deeply from these activities. By conducting karate sessions, games, singing, and assemblies, they developed leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Working closely with Kannada medium students helped them understand grassroots challenges and the importance of patience and empathy. Seeing the students grow more confident and active gave them a strong sense of fulfillment and purpose. Through these well planned activities, SENA Foundation successfully promoted all round development of students. Kannada medium children gained strength, confidence, discipline, and joy, while volunteers grew into compassionate leaders who believe in education that shapes both character and capability.
